Queenstown's alpine climate is tough on spas. Here are the most common faults I see — and fix — across the Wakatipu Basin.
Faulty heater element, failed flow switch, or thermostat issue. Common in Queenstown's cold winters — I carry heater stock.
A tripping RCD usually means a ground fault in the heater, pump, or wiring. Needs an electrician — I diagnose and fix the root cause safely.
Seized pump, failed capacitor, or control board fault. I repair and replace pumps for all major brands.
Error codes, blank display, or erratic behaviour — Balboa, Spanet, Davey and Hotspring boards diagnosed and replaced.
Leak detection, mechanical seal replacement, fitting and union repairs. I find and fix leaks properly — not just a temporary patch.
Failed blower motor or air switch fault. Blower replacements carried out across all brands and models.
Queenstown winters crack pipes, fittings, and components. I assess and repair freeze-damaged spas — a common alpine issue.
Blocked jets, failed valves, or low pressure from a worn pump. Full jet and valve servicing available.

Highly recommend. He handled all the electrical work for my kitchen/living area and bathroom reno – new lighting, upgraded power points, heated towel rail, new bathroom fan, and upgraded the electrical board with RCDs. Everything was done on time and to a really high standard. Super easy to deal with and great communication throughout. Will definitely be using him again for the next stage of the reno.

My minimum charge / first hour is $125 + GST, with subsequent labour at $90/hr (charged in 15-minute increments). A $20 flat return visit fee applies only if a second trip is needed to fit ordered parts. Parts and materials are supplied as part of the job. No hidden fees — I'll always give you a clear picture of what the job will cost.
